Copper indium gallium selenide/sulfide (CIGS) solar cells were fabricated from CIGS nanoparticles which synthesized by sonochemical method under ambient pressure. Metal precursors of Cu, In, Ga and Se powder were mixed in liquid media with complexing agents. The progress of the chemical reactions was monitored to study the step-wise formation of the solid state phases. The crystal structures of the precursor samples were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, and the chemical compositions were determined by X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy and the chemical analyses of ICP-MS. Synthetic conditions such as pH, temperature etc determined the chemical reactions and the metal ordering in the prepared samples. |
