CdSe nanoparticles were prepared by a safe and simple reverse micelle method. Particles are obtained in solution with a necessary size by adjusting synthetic conditions such as water pool size and reaction time. Besides, ultra sensitivity of their fluorescence to the surface states impedes its application to a great extent and the formation of a core/shell structure may be a soultion for this problem. In the present work, overcoating QD cores with higher band-gap semiconductor material CdS was also performed, which allows the passivation of the surface states. Then, the optical properties of CdSe/CdS core-shell nanoparticles were investigated by UV-VIS and fluorescence spectroscopy. |
