Artificial implant is one of the most important issues in the field of biomaterials science and engineering. Titanium (Ti) is a biocompatible metal with a high specific strength and corrosion resistance. Ti has been widely used for various kinds of medical devices such as dental implants and femoral stems. In this work, we carried out the surface modification of Ti with biocompatible substances such as alendronate (AL), tyramine (TA) and dopamine (DA). Then, the secondary modification was performed with biocompatible and bio-functional polymers like hyaluronic acid (HA), and Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) peptide for bone tissue engineering applications. This presentation will give you in-depth understanding for the effect of surface modification of Ti on bone regeneration. |
