The performance of the organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) has been improved dramatically over the past decades, as a result, there is now a greater industrial interest in using OFETs for applications that are currently incompatible with the use of a-Si or other inorganic transistor technologies. It is well known that the charge carrier transport is highly influenced by molecular packing and orientation, crystalline structure and orientation, and morphology of organic semiconducting layer in OFETs devices. In this study, two-dimensional grazing-incidence X-ray diffraction (2D-GIXD) technique, which is very powerful tool for the investigation of ‘in- and out-of-plane’ structures of highly conjugated organic molecules, was applied and the resulting structural information was correlated with the property of OFETs devices. |
