Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have attracted much attention for centuries due to their unique optical properties, electrical conductivity, oxidative catalysis, and antibacterial effects. In this study, AgNPs have been prepared by using aqueous AgNO3 solution in the poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogels. PVA aqueous solution was irradiated by a gamma-ray to make PVA hydrogels. The PVA hydrogels were dipped into 0.01M AgNO3 solution. FE-SEM was used to observe the formation of AgNPs with a reaction time between PVA hydrogels and AgNO3 solution. Also, the formation of AgNPs was confirmed by UV-vis, FT-IR, DSC. It was observed that the reaction time between PVA hydrogels and AgNO3 solution is crucial to the formation of AgNPs. |
