As the PCE of solution processable OPVs has crossed 10% benchmark, it has reached the stage where processing solvents and conditions need to be seriously considered in order for them to be suitable for large-scale production. One of the major concerns is to search for green solvents for large-area printing of OPV devices. Unfortunately, these solvents like CB, o-DCB, DIO, and CN are very expensive and energy-intensive to produce. In addition, there exist serious concerns over their adverse impact on human health and the environment, which makes them unfit as processing solvents for large-scale manufacturing. Therefore, there is an immediate need to search for better solvent alternatives to fabricate efficient OPVs and also achieving high performance from the polymer fullerene blend in these green solvents. We tried to study the OPVs performance using impedance spectroscopy for better evaluation and effect of environmentally friendly solvents compared to halogenated ones. |
