In this work, we choose 9 components such as propane, isobutane, HFC-23, HFC-32, HFC-125, HFC-134a, HFC-143a, HFC-152a, and HFC-227ea as refrigerant alternatives and vapor-liquid equilibria of 40 mixtures composed of these chemicals were measured. Especially, we selected 10 mixtures formed azeotropy among these mixtures and identified the formation of azeotropes by using a simple criterion for refrigerant mixtures based on the regular solution theory derived by J. W. Lee and H. Y. Kim. As a consequence of calculation, it was proven that the formation of azeotrope could not be predicted with this criterion for the mixtures composed of Hydrocarbon and HFCs in spite of being well predicted with this for the mixtures composed of HFCs and CFCs.
