Thermally conductive polymer composites were prepared by various means. and thermal diffusivity was measured by laser-flash method. Base polypropylene ,Carbon fiber filled polypropylene and (SiC+CF) hybrid polypropylene have been injection-molded and characterized in terms of thermal conductivity and mechanical properties. Injection process introduced a fiber orientation along the flow direction and aligned filler gave a higher thermal conductivity than other composites. Also, mechanical property of composites were discussed with respect to the fiber direction. Twin screw extrusion gave a higher thermal conductivity than batch-type mixer for hybrid filler system. thermal diffusivity of sample of twin extruder was 3.679*10-3 than that of bacth-type mixer was 2.939*10-3. It implies that twin screw extrusion is effective for filler dispersion with a small breakage of fiber. Also, fiber orientation effect injection-molded samples were discussed. |
