In this work, the porous carbon as adsorbents were prepared by using KOH activation of ketjen blacks (KB) to improve hydrogen storage capacity. The structural and morphological properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM), respectively. The textural properties were investigated by N2/77 K adsorption isotherms using Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) equation. The meso and micropore size distributions were calculated by the Barrett-Joyner-Halenda (BJH) equation and Horvath–Kawazoe (HK) method, respectively. The hydrogen storage capacities were analyzed at 77 K/1 bar. From the results, it was found that the hydrogen storage capacities were greatly influenced by chemical activation that increases specific surface area of the prepared samples. |
