제목 Structural Estimation of Particle Arrays at Air-Water Interface Based on Silica Particles with Well-Defined and Highly-Grafted PMMA
초록 Particle arrays at air-water interface based on silica nanoparticles with well-defined, highly-grafted dense poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) were investigated. The surface-initiated activators regenerated by electron transfer for atom transfer radical polymerization (ARGET ATRP) of MMA mediated by a cooper complex was carried out with an initiator-fixed silica particle under atmosphere. The polymerization proceeded in a living manner in CuCl2/PMDETA system, and then silica nanoparticles with well-defined and highly-grafted PMMA were obtained. Monolayer of silica nanoparticles was formed at the air-water interface by Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique. Multi-layers of the particles were fabricated by repetition of the LB depositing. The particle arrays were estimated by measurement of scanning electron microscope (SEM) and surface pressure-area (π-A) isotherms.
