TiO2 is well known as one of the most stable and high reactivity photocatalyst. This photocatalyst can completely mineralize toxic and nonbiodegradable organics to CO2, H2O and inorganic constituents. However, since most research have been performed using a film or powder type, it is not suitable for a industrial purpose. So it is necessary to develop another type of photocatalyst such as fiber. In this study, TiO2 fibers were fabricated from polycarbosilane and titanium (IV) butoxide by using a melt spinning technique. And the samples were cured by electron beam irradiation. The microstructure of the cured fibers was observed by a scanning electron microscopy, and the crystal structure was analyzer by X-ray diffraction and infrared spectrometer observations, respectively. |
