Radar Absorbing Material (RAM) is a key component for weapon systems such as aircrafts, airships, and missiles to achieve both the stealth performance by absorbing electromagnetic waves incident on and load bearing capability. We fabricate multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWNT), Reduced Grapheme Oxide (RGO), fullerene and block copolymer composite in epoxy to evaluate the reflection loss of all carbon-based material. Self-assembled block copolymer is used to disperse and stabilize the MWNTs against the aggregation of the MWNTs and improve the efficiency of an absorbing property. To get an advanced reflection loss, optimized dispersion of MWNTs is an essential prerequisite condition. The various loading of MWNT/block copolymer is prepared in the proportion of 1:10. As the loading of MWNTs as a filler is increased, the reflection loss is increased and the dispersed MWNTs with self-assembled block copolymer show better reflection loss than a MWNTs without block copolymer. |
