High-density array of FePt nanodots on a solid substrate by using a block copolymer template |

The L10 ordered FePt is an excellent candidate for high density magnetic storage and recording applications. However, it is not yet available to prepare a high-density array of FePt nanoparticles, though its importance in many device applications such as high-density data storage. In this study, we fabricated a high-density array of ferromagnetic FePt nanoparticles by using nanoporous block copolymer template prepared by polystyrene-block-polymethylmethacrylate copolymer. We found that the fabricated FePt nanoparticles have uniform size. Also, we tuned very easily the composition of FePt nanoparticles. The XRD, SEM, AFM and SQUID were used to characterize the properties of L10 FePt nanocrystals. |
