제목 Thermal- and photo-triggered self-repairing effect of PLA/TPU/modified graphene nanocomposites
초록 Development of polymer which can repair themselves after undesired mechanical damage has been paid great attentions. In this study, PLA/TPU blend and its nanocomposites with modified graphene were prepared by melt blending in an internal mixer. It was observed that surface damage of the blend nanocomposites formed from plastic deformation can be recovered to its original shape  upon the elevation of temperature above Tg of the samples due to reversible plasticity shape memory effect of the nanocomposites.  Such shape memory based self-repairing effect can also be manifested under near-infrared (NIR) irradiation, which is due to the photothermal effect of graphene embedded in the matrix polymer.  Effect of graphene content on the recovery rate of the surface damage was evaluated using optical microscopy. These functional toughened bioplastics can have potential applications in self-repairing structural components, such as e.g. automobile fenders.
