A facile, cost-effective, and scalable method to produce viscoelastic nanocomposites using boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) and eutectic liquid (EL) have been achieved in polymer matrix. Unlike carbon nanotubes (CNTs) that are harmful to the body, BNNTs are used in biomedical field because they are known to be harmless to the body. In addition, due to its excellent mechanical, thermal and electrical properties, BNNTs have attracted great attention in a variety of applications including space, nuclear, and electronics industries. For fabrication of the nanocomposites, eutectic liquid(EL) with non-volatile and simple in chemical structure is used. EL allowed BNNTs dispersed in thermosetting polymers such as polyurethane and epoxy resins. |
