제목 Layer-by-Layer Assembled Multifunctional Colloidal Fluids with Magnetic, Electric, and Optical Properties
초록 We report that multifunctional solvent-free colloidal fluids with highly integrated functionalities can be fabricated using layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly. First, amine-functionalized dendrimer and oleic acid-Fe3O4 nanoparticles (OA-MP) were alternately coated onto silica colloids using in-situ ligand exchange-induced LbL assembly in organic media. Furthermore, PSS and QDs stabilized by thiol-functionalized imidazolium-type ionic liquids (IL-SH) were adsorbed onto the OA-MP-coated colloids using electrostatic LbL assembly in aqueous solution. These resulting colloidal fluids exhibit superparmagnetism, photoluminescence, ionic conduction as well as liquid-like behavior without addition of any solvent. We believe that our approach can provide a basis for exploiting multifunctional colloidal fluids with liquid-like behavior at room temperature, because various functionalities can be highly integrated into colloids via LbL-assembly.
