We have achieved an enhancement of the luminance, external quantum efficiency in polymer light-emitting diode (PLED) as water-soluble polymer (W.S.P) layer between the emitting polymer and the cathode metal. PLED was coated W.S.P (FNQ, FPQ) as the role of electron transport and hole blocking material. The luminance is higher for the MEH-PPV / W.S.P (FNQ, FPQ) structure (device 2~3) and W.S.P + ion (Cs+, F-) (device 4~7) compared to that of the without the W.S.P layer (device 1) at the same voltage. W.S.P (FNQ) + Cs+ structure (device 4) and W.S.P (FPQ) + Cs+ structure (device 6) respectively showed a luminance of 6880cd/m2 and 5790 cd/m2 at an applied voltage of 7V and 8V, than device 1 showed the maximum luminance 1800 cd/m2 at 8V. Maximum luminance of device 4 is about 3.5 times higher than that of device 1 and the device 6 is about 3.0 times higher than that of device 1. |
