Waterborne polyurethane (WPU) /epoxy (EP) hybrids were designed and synthesized with functionalized epoxy resin . Terephtalic acid(TA), benzyl dimethylamine(BDMA) and glycidyl methacrylate were used as the starting materials to build up dihydroxyl oligomer. The WPU/EP hybrids obtainded were characterzed using IR, particle size analyzer, DMTA, UTM, TGA, DSC, T-peel test, and lab shear tests. It was found that WPU/epoxy hybrids showed remarkably high mechanical and adhesion properties at room and elevated temperatures as well as thermal stability as compared with the conventional WPU. |
