Molecular aging has recently emerged as a powerful tool for the development of novel contrast agents and the implementation of insightful approaches to monitor biological processes non-invasively. The size and surface function of the particles are crucial factors for their biomedical application. Superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) structure is composed of ferric iron (Fe3+) and ferrous iron (Fe2+). The iron oxid nanoparticles are coated with dextran and gelatin (DGNP) and their crystallinity, magnetic property, shape and size were determined by X-ray diffrctometer (XRD), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and dynamic light scattering (DLS), respectively. Then AP-1 peptide, which obtained by phage display technique was immobilized on the surface of the DGNP to improve their intracellular uptake and ability to target specific cells. |
