In order to facilitate the recycling of solar photovoltaic modules, the method of solvent extraction can be applied for segregating individual acids from mixed acid waste that is discharged during the etching process. In the proposed study, trioctyl phosphate, tributyl phosphate, and 2-ethylhexyl alcohol were employed as extraction reagents during the process of solvent extraction for separating acids from a three-component mixed waste solution containing phosphoric acid, nitric acid, and acetic acid. The optimal solvent organic/aqueous phase ratio (O/A) and the required process stage were determined for developing a continuous solvent extraction process capable of sequentially segregating phosphoric acid, nitric acid, and acetic acid from the three-component mixed waste solution. Furthermore, during solvent extraction, the separation of individual acids from the acid mixture was achieved effectively with an O/A ratio value of three, at the seventh and eighth stages. |
