Electrical and magnetic properties of honeycomb-patterned film containing Poly(ɛ-Caprolactone)-capped magnetic nano particles |

Novel biocompatible nano composite polymer containing poly(ɛ-caprolactone) (PCL) was synthesized via in situ ring-opening polymerization method of ɛ-caprolactone in the presence of 10, 20 and 30 wt% of capped magnetic nano particles (CMP). The as prepared PCL-CMP nano composites were characterized using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and UV-vis spectra to support the interaction between PCL and CMP. And the X-ray diffraction pattern and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was used to understand the nature and thermal stability of the nano composites. Honeycomb-patterned thin films with regular structures were fabricated by casting the composite solution under humid conditions. Further the current (I) - voltage (V) characteristics and magnetic behavior of the honeycomb-patterned nano composites were investigated. The magnetization data exhibit higher hysteresis loop at room temperature. The composite samples reveal an ordered semi-conducting behavior. |
