제목 | Electrodeposited Pt Thin Layers on Bimetallic Au-Pt catalyst for Formic Acid Oxidation Reaction |
초록 | Eco-friendly, fuel cells among alternative energy sources due to depletion of fossil fuels and global warming are emerging as alternatives. The formic acid of which is a simple structure chemical with hydrogen and has low toxic properties. Pt is commonly used as a catalyst, and research is underway to minimize high prices and poisoning of catalyst surfaces. Bimetallic Au-Pt catalysts are optimized for formic acid oxidation reaction to increase the efficiency of the catalyst. There are two pathways for reaction, the direct pathway that quickly convert to CO2 and the indirect pathway that form chemisorbed CO-intermediate. Self-terminating results in the direct pathways being dominant as the monolayer Pt atom is depositioned on the dendritic Au. The dominant direct pathways in the resulting Au-Pt can produce direct formic acid fuel cells with higher voltages at the same current if they are selectively responded by the large effect, the tensile strain effect. |
