Study of dielectric properties using gravure machine |

Gravure printing can easily manufacture low cost and large scale products. Our practical purpose produces flexible and ultra-low cost RFID tags using the gravure printing technique. Roll-to-Roll (R2R) gravure printing has been adopted for dielectric lines on plastic foils. To fomulate dielectric ink, nanometer sized oxide materials were dispersed in polymer binder. In this paper, we would like to show the properties of the printed dielectric layer using R2R grauvre printing. The printed thicknesses of the dielectric layer have a strong influence on short rate, roughness and capacitance per unit area. Physical dimensions such as roughness, thickness are checked using 3D profiler and SEM images. Dielectric constant according to frequency is also measured. There is a limit to the breakdown voltage our electronics can bear. Present level endures above 130 V. |
