Li-ion batteries are a rechargeable secondary battery. We used LiFePO4 as cathode material, and batteries using LiFePO4 is excellent in terms of safety and life. Its stability and price are competitive, but energy and density are still low and further development is needed. We observed the changes in the electrode in real time during charging and discharging of the battery by using Raman spectroscopy. Raman spectroscopy is a powerful technique to deduce the molecular structure. We compared the Raman spectra before and after charging / discharging to examine what was happening on the cathode surface. Also, to observe the changes in the cathode of the battery in real time during battery operation, in-situ Raman measurement was performed. In this presentation, the details of our work will be presented. |
