Smart Nanoparticles as Noble Drug Delivery System |

Nanostructured Porous Silicon (PSi) exhibiting unique reflectivity were successfully obtained by an electrochemical etching of silicon wafer using currents. Optically encoded smart particle which retained optical reflectivity has been generated from the distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) PSi film by ultrasono-method and exhibit a sharp photonic band gap in the optical reflectivity spectrum. The size of these particles is about 500 nm. Here, we examine the smart particles containing a periodic nanostructure for the controlled release drug delivery. Optical characteristics of DBR PSi smart particle retains their photonic feature in pH 7 aqueous buffer solution. The release of drug and change of DBR maxima peak were measured by UV-vis and reflectance spectrometer. |
