제목 Improved Photostability of Novel CdS Nanosheets by Composited with ZnMn2O4 for Excellently Ameliorated Hydrogen Evolution
초록 Alternative energy is a crucial theme in the 21st century because of the large depletion of fossil fuels and serious environmental issues. Among various renewable energies, hydrogen has been categorized as the most prominent candidate and solar hydrogen photo-generation is most preferable due to its superior merits. Although many materials have been intensively explored over decades, cadmium sulfide (CdS) has enormously been gained scientific attention because of its suitable bandgap energy for visible light absorption. Nevertheless, CdS still suffered photo-corrosion, correlating to low photocatalytic activity, and restricting its practical applications. To overcome this phenomenon, we cooperated zinc manganite (ZnMn2O4) into CdS nanosheets. The composites exhibited high stability and showed excellent efficiency that was up to 8.685 mmol.g-1.h-1 under visible light irradiation. The electronic structures were systematically characterized by photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-Vis DRS), as well as ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS) to get deeper insights into photocatalytic mechanisms.
