제목 | Electrochemical modeling of solid oxide electrolysis cell using computational fluid dynamics |
초록 | The solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) is commonly used for the production of hydrogen from electrolysis of water, and it could function as energy conversion/storage. In the SOEC, the electrochemical reactions take place in the electrodes by applied voltage, and this process cause overpotential losses. To investigate the performance of SOEC, an electrochemical model was developed and numerical simulation was performed considering momentum, species, energy and charge transport. The detailed studies were conducted under different inlet conditions in order to capture its influence on the production of hydrogen.
