In this study, the molecular bio-photodiode consisting of green fluorescence protein (GFP), viologen, and cytochrome c structured hetero-film was investigated. The hetero-film was fabricated by subsequently depositing cytochrome c, viologen, and GFP onto the gold substrate. Rectifying property and surface morphology of the molecular bio-photodiode was observed by current-voltage (I-V) measurement and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). Rectifying property of the molecular bio-photodiode was measured with range of -0.1 ~ +0.1V. When forward bias generate, the current flow was observed. On the other hand, the current flow was not observed in reverse bias. From these results, it can be concluded that the proposed device can be usefully applied as a model system for the development of the molecular bio-photodiode. |
