To investigate the efficiency of polycarbonate polyol as hard segment constitution in polyurethane, we have synthesized two series of polyurethane (PU). Initially PU synthesized with aliphatic polycarbonate polyol (APP), hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) and 1,4-Butandiol (BDO) as a chain extender for the primary investigation. Furthermore, APP, HDI and BDO was copolymerized with polytetramethylene ether glycol and tri-methylolpropane for comparing the properties. The structural characterization was done by spectroscopic techniques. The physical and mechanical properties resulting polyurethane were characterized by gel permeation chromatography, universal testing machine, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry. |
