The preparation of keratin-based thermoplastic |

The extracted keratin-based protein from chicken feather were studied for thermoplastic material by grafting polymerization. The extracted keratin-based protein was modified for facilitate grafting via several pre-treatment. The various methacrylate was grafted to modified keratin-based protein. The characteristic of grafted keratin-based composite was investigated by FT-IR, NMR and thermal analysis. The grafted keratin-based composites was prepared to films by compression mold with addition of plasticizer or homopolymer. |
