Two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) endowed with an ultrathin layer represent specific optical characteristics due to their large surface area as well as intrinsic band structure. Taking advantages of these structural and optical properties, herein we propose novel TMD-based antioxidation platform, in which TMD nanosheets, including MoS2, WS2, MoSe2, and WSe2, are finely dispersed in water with aids of amphiphilic poly (ε-caprolactone)-b-poly (ethylene oxide) copolymer. We figure out that the TMD nanosheets indeed show extraordinary enhanced and prolonged radical scavenging performance irrelevant to storage conditions. Modeling study elucidates that this excellent antioxidation activity is originated from the favored hydrogen atom dissociation via the defective TMD nanosheet in aqueous media. |
