Layer by layer (LbL) assembled multilayer thin film have evolved into drug delivery system with attractive advantages such as no limitation of selecting building block and free modification of film structure. In this study, we analyzed to fundamental properties of LbL films constructed by amphiphilic block copolymer micelle (BCM) as nano-sized drug vehicles, graphene oxide (GO) and branched polyethylenimine (bPEI). These films were made by LbL assembly with electrostatic interaction between carboxyl group of BCM and amine group of functionalized GO or bPEI at various pH conditions. Then we compared the thickness, morphology, adsorbed quantity and release profile of (bPEI/BCM) film to those of (GO/BCM) film. These results had a significant difference because of the distinction of the pH dependence of each materials. We believe these basic approaches of the pH dependent film properties provide developments in controlling the coating technic for biological and biomedical applications. |
