Preparation of functional polymer composite system composed of Congo red derived S/N/O doped carbon |

Heteroatom-doped carbon-based adsorbent were prepared by carbonizing the Congo Red dye at different temperatures and used for the adsorption of organic dyes. Carbonizing the precursor material at 700oC, found to be the optimum condition for the development of efficient adsorbent for the removal of organic dyes from aqueous solution. The effect of pyrolysis temperature on the performance of the carbons was discussed using the physicochemical properties of the samples. The optimum pH of the solution for the batch adsorption of MB is 5.5, and the adsorption is ultra-fast with a pseudo-second-order interaction. Congo Red adsorbed polymers and their carbonization, Congo Red based carbon containing functional polymer composites, and so on are studied, and the resulting functional composite system is tested for environmental remediation. |
