Polymer white-light-emitting diodes (WPLEDs) have been fabricated with a single layer of fluorescent polymer blend. Blending system using same backbone polymer can overcome phase separation problem for white polymer light-emitting diodes. The device structure consists of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/emissive layer/Ca/Al. The emissive layer is a blend of poly(N- 9′ -heptadecanyl-2,7-carbazole-alt-(2′, 7′ - 9′, 9′ -ethylhexylfluorne) (PCEHF), poly(N- 9′ -heptadecanyl-2,7-carbazole-4H-cyclopenta[2,1-b;3,4-b']-dihexylthiophene)-alt-thiazolothiazole) (PCTZ) and poly(N- 9′ -heptadecanyl-2,7-carbazole-alt-5,5-(4′, 7′ -di-2-thienyl- 2′, 1′, 3′ -benzothiadiazole) (PCDTBT), which, respectively, emits blue, green and red light. The device with a blending ratio of blue, green and red of 100 : 0.2 : 0.15 and 100 : 0.3 : 0.1 show CIE coler coordinate of (0.31, 0.32) with a maximum brightness of ~ 500 cd/m 2. |
