Polypropylene has limitations in applications, such as foaming, thermoforming, and extrusion coating due to its poor melt strength. There are some ways to increase melt strength of polypropylene, and it is one of the possible routes to introduce branching onto polypropylene to make reaction between randomly fuctionalized polypropylene with polyfunctional monomer. In this study, reactive melt processing of polyfunctional monomer with PP-g-MA was carried out. The polyfunctional monomers used in this study were poly[methylene(phenylene isocyanate)](PMPI) and different types of amines, such as poly(oxypropylene) diamines, hexamethylene diamine and triethylenetetramine. Thermal and rheological properties of these chain-extended polypropylene were measured and compared.
