Enhancement of the thermal conductivity of aluminum oxide - epoxy terminated dimethyl polysiloxane with a metal oxide containing polysiloxane |

Epoxy-terminated dimethyl polysiloxane oligomer was synthesized to fabricate a thermally conductive composite filled with Al2O3. Synthesized Al2O3 containing modified polysiloxane was added to provide interfacial interactions. The results of the dispersity and thermal conductivity tests revealed that the addition of Al2O3 containing modified polysiloxane increased the thermally conductive properties and particle dispersity because of the occurrence of interfacial interactions. The effect of PMDMS:Al2O3 was correlated with Agari’s model. The results indicated that the presence of PMDMS:Al2O3 would help to establish the conducting path compared to compounds without it. |
