제목 Preparation of silica membranes derived by tetraethoxydimethyl disiloxane for purification of C5 fractions
초록    Generally, amorphous silica membranes were prepared with tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) by chemical vapor deposition and sol-gel method. TEOS-derived silica membranes is appropriate for the separation of small size of molecules with relatively low permeation. Recently, "Spacer technique" was proposed with a bridged alkoxide, which is one of the structured alkoxides and consists of organic functional groups between two silicon atoms. In this study, 1,1,3,3-tetraethoxy-1,3-dimethyl disiloxane (TEDMDS) was used for purification of dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) in C5 fractions from petroleum industry.

   TEDMDS-derived silica sol was synthesized by hydrolysis and condensation under acetic acid catalyst system at 60oC for 24 hours. TEDMDS-derived silica membrane was coated on the modified α-alumina support, followed by firing at 300-450oC in air atmosphere. The pervaporation of mixtures of DCDP/CP (90wt%/10wt%) was investigated at 50oC.
