Simple process for functional microcapsule production by electrospraying |

Although nanofibers fabricated by electrospinning have been attracting wide interest, the production of colloids by electrospraying has not much studied so far. We have developed a simple method for the production of functional colloids with high uniformity by means of the electrospray. We fabricated PCL/PEO colloids including functional particles by using electrospraying. The structure of the colloids was dependent on the polymer concentration, relative ratio between the polymer solutions. Release kinetics of functional microcapsules is regulated according to the temperature and increasing the amount of PEO in the spray solution. The morphology of microcapsules has been characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and confocal microscopy. |
