제목 Fabrication and Excited-State Dynamics of Gold Nanoparticle-Tethered Poly(3-hexylthiophene) Nanofibers
초록 Hybrid aggregate systems of conjugated polymers and inorganic nanoparticles (NPs) have various potential applications in optoelectronic devices, but a fundamental understanding of the aggregation formation mechanisms and excited-state dynamics of such systems is incomplete. In this presentation, we introduce hybrid poly(3-hexylthiophene) nanofibers (P3HT NFs) fabricated by the self-assembly of P3HT tethered on gold NPs (P3HT-Au NPs). We found that the rigid backbone organization of P3HT chains is well induced by the tethering effect of P3HT chains onto Au NPs. Especially, this unique nanostructure of hybrid P3HT NFs significantly increases the delocalization of singlet (S1) excitons compared to those of the pristine P3HT NFs. We suggest that our strategy to cause self-assembly of P3HT-Au NPs to generate long-lived S1 excitons, will be also applied to other crystalline conjugated polymers and NPs systems and contribute to improvement in the efficiency of optoelectronic devices.
