제목 Organic Semiconductors for Electronic Applications
초록 Herein, the synthesis and characterisation of conjugated semiconducting organic materials for electronic applications such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs), photovoltaic cells (OPVs), field-effect transistors (OFETs) are discussed. Firstly, the synthesis of a series of soluble poly-2,7- and 3,6-phenanthrylenes for OLEDs is presented. Depending on the nature of the repeat units they constitute analogues of poly-p-phenylene (PPP) and poly-p-phenylenevinylene (PPV). In a separate work, the PCBM analogs are described for usage in OPVs. This demonstrates the effects of a carboxylic acid group and an electron donating substituent in fullerenes as n-type materials. Additionally, from the concept that donor-acceptor materials can induce efficient electron transfer, the synthesis and characterization of a series of organic semiconductors consisting exclusively of dithienylcyclopentadienone subunits within a polythiophene backbone are described as the first example for OFETs.
