CdSe quantum dots(QDs) were modified with regioregular quaterthiophene to improve the power conversion efficiency of CdSe/P3HT hybrid solar cells. First, the CdSe quantum dots(QDs) were prepared by colloidal method and passivated by trioctylphosphineoxide(TOPO), while 3,4’-dihexyl-2,2’,5’,2’’,5’’,2’’’-quaterthiophene (2H4T) was synthesized by bromination, boration and Suzuki reaction, and designed to have thiol functional group. Then, the modified CdSe QDs were subjected to prepare hybrid solar cell by mixing with P3HT and then power conversion efficiency was evaluated under AM 1.5 Global solar conditions (100mW/cm2). In addition, the mixtures were also characterized by TEM, UV-Vis and PL as a function of CdSe loading. |
