In this study, Nylon-4 copolymers synthesized by ring-opening polymerization of 2-pyrrolidinone with β-lactam. The comonomer β-lactam was prepared via N-chlorosulfonylisocyanate cyaloaddition reactions with cyclooctene. Sodium metal and potassium tert-butoxide were used as the catalysts and acylating agent was used for in situ generation of ROP co-initiator. The molecular weight of synthesized copolymer was obtained using intrinsic viscosity. And, the relationship between reaction temperature and monomer composition in copolymer was investigated. According to the copolymer composition, changes in melting temperature and thermal decomposition temperaure were found. Copolymer was analysed by H-NMR. and its thermal properties were measured by TGA and DSC. |
