제목 Polymerization of Vinyl Ethers by Fe(II) and Co(II) Pyridyl(bis-imine)/Methylaluminoxane Catalysts
초록 Some structurally well defined early transition-metal complexes have a Lewis acid to catalyze the polymerization of electron-rich monomers but late transition-metal complexes are rarely investigated. A series of cationic iron(II) and cobalt(II) complexes containing pyridyl(bis-imine)ligands which were recently developed as an olefin polymerization catalyst by Brookhart and coworkers have been used as catalysts on the polymerization of vinyl ethers such as isobutyl vinyl ether and n-butyl vinyl ether. Here we disclose our investigation on the reactivity of a series of iron(II) and cobalt(II) complexes towards various vinyl ethers. The key feature if this study indicates how the steric effect of ligands influences the reactivity of these metal center in the polymerization of vinyl ethers.
