제목 | A study on improving conversion of methane to hydrocarbons using H-radical donors |
초록 | Chemical conversion of methane-based gas resources is an attractive technology in terms of reducing dependence on the oil industry. This strategy could potentially lower the greenhouse effect from a carbon-neutral perspective. Non-oxidative chemistry allows the methane to be converted to hydrogen with ethylene without producing carbon dioxide. The design of a catalytic reactor is important to increase the overall energy efficiency, where coke formation should be minimized while maximizing methane conversion. The key challenge for the non-oxidative direct conversion of methane is how to improve reactor stability under operating the reaction by nearly 1,000 ℃. We hypothesize that the H-radical donor helps to initial C-H activation of methane, which boosts the reactivity. In this presentation, we try to elucidate the effect of H-radical donors on the non-oxidative direct conversion of methane. We have optimized the reaction parameters to finely control the reaction kinetics on both the gas phase and catalytic surface. |
