Many Applications from One Enzyme: Engineering of Cytochrome P450BM3 Enzyme |
초록 |
Cytochrome P450BM3, a monooxygenase enzyme isolated from Bacillus megaterium, is a highly evolvable protein which can adapt new functions easily compared to many other enzymes. They are tolerable for many destabilizing new mutations and have conformationally variable nonpolar active sites. Wild-type P450BM3 enzymes lacking desired catalytic or physical properties have been extensively and successfully engineered for the synthesis of a variety of value-added products with new substrate scope and high selectivity. We will discuss recent advances in engineering of cytochrome P450BM3 focused on biocatalytic and biomedical applications. |
