Unimolecular core-shell architectures have attracted much attention due to their high application potential in as drug delivery, stimuli-responsive release, catalysis, and phase transfer. Various controlled polymerization techniques have been used to synthesize well-defined polymeric unimolecular micelles. In this study, novel core-shell type star-shaped polymers composed of poly(arylene ether sulfone) (PAES) as a core, and poly(2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethyl methacrylate-co-oligo(ethylene glycol) methacrylate) [P(MEO2MA-co-OEGMA)] as a shell were synthesized by the combination of chain-growth polycondensation, atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP), and “Click” chemistry. Details of synthetic approaches and behaviors in aqueous media as thermo-responsive nanocontainers will be presented. |
