Hybrid electrospun nanofibers scaffolds are considered to be of importance in regeneration of new tissue. Chemically grafted BMP-2 on the surface of HA which were incorporated in the electrospun PLGA/nHA nanofibers scaffolds for mimicking the characteristics of extracellular matrix at nanoscale, in-order to trigger the growth of bone tissue. After extensive characterization using various spectroscopic techniques as FESEM, FTIR, TEM, XPS, the BMP-2 loaded PLGA/nHA scaffolds were subjected to in vivo test. The results obtained from the various in vivo experiments such as cell adhesion, cell proliferation, alizarin red staining and Von Kossa assay, indicated a positive stimuli in-terms of osteoblastic cells growth on the BMP-2 loaded PLGA/nHA scaffolds contrary to PLGA/nHA and PLGA scaffolds which were used as controlled. PLGA/nHA scaffolds can be used as nano drug delivery carrier for the targeted delivery of BMP-2 will open new possibilities for enhancing bone tissue regeneration . |
