Doping of Conducting Polymer by Hyperbranched Polymer |

Although polyaniline (PANI) is one of the important conducting polymers, the conductivity comes from chemical doping. The dopants are generally low molecular mineral acids such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid. The acids are prone to migrate to the surface of PANI and evaporate. The idea of this study is using polymeric dopants. Specifically, hyperbranched polymers are known to be globular form, high solubility, low viscosity, and better compatibility. This study explored the doped of polyaniline emeraldine base (PANI-EB) with poly(3-phenoxy isophthalicacid), poly(4-phenoxybenzene sulfonic acid), or hyperbranched block copolymer. The doping level of PANI composite with respect to the amount of polymeric dopant will be reported. The conductivity of doped polyaniline composites were studied by using cyclic voltammogram. In addition, the morphology of composites is to be observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). |
