제목 | Effect of Ionization Potential of Photoconducting Matrices on Photorefractivity |
초록 | We tried to optimize chemical structures of photoconductive matrices and electro-optic chromophores. Poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK) has been frequently used as a hole-conducting matrix for PR polymer composites because of its high photoconductivity and hole transporting property. We have found that ionization potentials of electron donating moieties in photoconductive materials influence not only the charge generation efficiency but also the carrier mobilities and consequently the space charge build-up process. Photoconductive polymers which contain TPA or TPD in main-chain were synthesized to increase the photoconductivity of the system. It showed one order of magnitude higher photoconductivity than PSX-Cz. This is because TPA or TPD has lower ionization potential than carbazole moiety. It was expected that the build-up time of internal space charge field would be considerably reduced. Fig. 1. Photoonductivity of photorefractive composites |
