This study investigate the effect of plasma functionalization on the powder form of polypropylene and carbon nanotube to prepare the polypropylene (PP)/carbon nanotube (CNT) composite. Based on preliminary study, inclusion weight of CNT is fixed at 2 wt.%. In order to optimize the process and to achieve a sufficient degree of functionalization, powder form PP and CNT are treated by plasma while changing the exposure time (5 and 15 min) and plasma power (50 and 80 W). The intensity of functionalization is measured by free radical scavenging activity of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). The mechanical, rheological and electrical properties of treated composites are evaluated. |
